Lali didi used to watch women in her neighbourhood heading to work every day, and this sparked her curiosity. Upon inquiring with them about the centre from them, she learnt about it being a safe place for women to work. Excitedly, she shared this with her husband and children, and they permitted her to work there. This is her first job ever, and she takes joy in earning an income.
“I used to stitch at home, on my machine, but since joining here, I've refined my work and achieved a higher level of finishing. Today, I am able to do both embroidery and stitch women's kurtis. I genuinely enjoy being here. My income allows me to contribute to the household and save up for my grandchildren too. I hope to spread awareness about this place to other women in my locality as well”
