How a CSR initiative in rural Rajasthan became a nationwide platform for India's most skilled hands.
"Women's equality begins with economic empowerment. Every product on this platform is proof that it works."
— The Hearts With Fingers founding belief
Where It Began
Hearts With Fingers was born from Sakhi — a CSR initiative by Hindustan Zinc — that began mobilising women in remote villages of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand into Self Help Groups (SHGs) back in 2016.
These SHGs were more than savings circles. They became spaces of learning, sharing, and transformation. Women who had never before managed money, run a business, or stepped into a market — began producing goods that could hold their own anywhere in India.
With skills training, access to finance, and a growing network of support, these women started making handcrafted goods — each item a reflection of their resilience, creativity, and the knowledge passed through generations.
Hearts With Fingers became the bridge between those hands and the homes that would love their work.
